Multiple agents crashing

We just signed up for Netdata Business and have multiple nodes where the agent will not stay started. One is a fully patched Windows Server 2025, the other is a fully patched Windows Server 2022. Eventviewer shows no events from the Netdata service indicating why it would crash. Your installer does not set the option to restart the service if it stops, I have set that for these 2 systems. I recommend set that option during install as metrics will be lost if the service stops.

Specifically, when you attempt to start the service via the Windows Services manager, does it start and remain running, or does it stop again automatically?

It will start then randomly crash. I’ve set some of mine to restart 2x and do nothing the 3rd time but that doesn’t keep them started.

Also, 2 we have set to auto restart the services and are currently started show as offline. How do we force the agent to refresh?

Any update on this? The services are running but the console shows them offline.

Would it be possible for someone to take the time to respond, even if it’s, “We have no idea so you’re on your own”, but we’d prefer you provide us troubleshooting steps so we can help resolve this so we can purchase more node licenses. Until this is resolved, we will not be able to move forward with further deployment.

My apologies for the delayed response. We have been focused on resolving this and other Microsoft-related issues.

Your report helped us identify several Windows-specific deadlocks and behaviors not found on Unix systems. We have already created multiple PRs to fix these scenarios, and we already included in previous patches.

A new patch release is coming soon. It will also include fixes for more Windows events that we suspect are linked to the crash you reported.

I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say we’re looking forward to this. If you’ll please keep us updated frequently we’d appreciate it. Happy to test beta builds if you want.

We’ve just paid for another month and 25% of our systems aren’t working. Please give us an update on the Windows version that should fix our issues. If it is going to be past the next billing date we will need to suspend our account and look elsewhere. Thank you!
