Configuring vSphere instance names?

Hello team,
I need your help, after I configured vSphere with Netdata node the VMs & Hosts names on Netdata looks like UID and not the real name/Hostname of the machines. for example - the host names are “esxi0{x}.vmware.team” and thats what I get on Netdata UI:

Thanks!
Ziv Avitan.

Hi, @Ziv_Avitan. We need to update vSphere collector - add labels to charts so they can be used in “group by” (instead of “instance”):

  • vm, host, cluster, and datacenter names as labels to virtual machines.
  • host, cluster, and datacenter names as labels to hosts.

The only blocker is the complexity of setting up a local lab with vCenter. I remember it took me some time when I was writing vSphere collector (3 years ago).

@Ziv_Avitan I suggest to open a bug report.

Hello, thanks for answer.
So as I understood, there is no resolution right now?

Correct, there is no solution now.
