First Time Installation Mac Sonoma and Windows 11 for beginners

Hi All,

I am a long time helpdesk engineer. But I’ve found that I am very much a beginner again when it comes to install Netdata nodes.

  1. I have a Mac M2 Sonoma 14.6 and have done my best installing Homebrew to install Netdata. I think the active path could be wrong. Also, in the hustle of keeping up, I have lost sight of what to do next. Please help me get the agent installed. I will want to take notes for the future. Heads up, I do see this Mac in my dashboard which says 1 live and 1 unseen with no data.

  2. I have a Windows 11 version 10.0.22631. I followed the instructions to install “Windows Exporter 0.26.2”. I was able to download and launch as admin. The cmd screen appears stalled, as it lists a lot of info and has sat there now for 30 minutes. The goal is the same here. Please help me install the agent. I would like to take notes for my future installations.

  3. In the end, I would like these two computers of mine to be in the dashboard with all the metrics seen in the online example. -And- be ready to start installing this on my first few customer Mac’s and/or PC’s.
