I would like to know if there is a setting we can manage to disable the automatic deployment of Netdata versions on our nodes. This is triggering alerts that wake us up in the middle of the night due to false-positive unreachable node alerts.
We need an option to prevent the Netdata release from being applied automatically, so we can apply the update during our support hours within a scheduled downtime window.
Please let us know if there is a way to manage this or if you are working on a feature to address this issue.
Yes, there’s a setting to disable automatic updates when installing Netdata.
There are several developments going on regarding unreachable alerts:
We found a bug on Cloud that may trigger unreachable alerts when it shouldn’t. We are actively working on a fix that should be released next week.
We are working on making unreachable alerts smarter, where we take smarter decisions depending on the agent disconnect reason, for example, when the agent disconnects because it will update, etc.
Also, there is already a feature available where you can tweak the delay for unreachable alerts (how long should we wait before dispatching the notification). You can find it on Cloud at the space setttings under Alerts & Notifications → Reachability tab.
