Problem/Question
So I’ve set up SNPM monitoring to scrape my switch, that worked great using these commands and config:
cd /etc/netdata 2>/dev/null || cd /opt/netdata/etc/netdata
sudo ./edit-config go.d/snmp.conf
jobs:
- name: CiscoSG300-28
update_every: 50
hostname: "10.50.20.2"
community: public
options:
version: 2
I got the metrics to show up on the netdata UI under that node.
No as that node is the parent node, it would be nice to have the smtp device listed like a real device, as it technically also is a seperate device.
I found the vnode section, I append it to the config:
jobs:
- name: CiscoSG300-28
create_vnode: true
update_every: 50
hostname: "10.50.20.2"
community: public
options:
version: 2
And restart the netdata agent.
However NO new node is on the dashboard, no matter what I do, what am I doing wrong /missing?
Also why does SNMP not show metrics like RAM/CPU/SPACE etc? It’s a Cisco SG300 Switch.

What I expected to happen
I expect it to create a vNode like that SMTP device would be a real node.
