What’s the reasoning for limiting the name of a space to 5 characters minimum? Why can’t I just name my lab “Lab”?

I have actually wondered about this myself too a few times- will ask someone from the product or BE team about it. Unsure if some product reason or maybe something technical.
It’s due to an ancient limitation that no longer exists. In the past we didn’t have a way for two users to have the same exact space name, so the 5 letter limit was an attempt to limit the potential for duplicates. The limitation was lifted when the space slugs started getting generated with suffixes that ensure uniqueness. e.g. xxxxx-hq or xxxxx-corp. But the length limitation was forgotten in place.
Ah, gotcha. Thank for explaining the history behind this! Sounds like this surfaced a legacy limitation.
