How to zoom out a chart when there's no recent data?

Summary

I have a saved dashboard on netdata cloud that displays data for a specific host. This host often has long periods where it is offline, thus not reporting data. If I open the dashboard during one of those “quiet periods” I cannot easily scroll back to the last time the data WAS being reported, as the “controls” overlay with the zoom buttons does not appear:
