SNMP plugin - PROCFILE: Cannot open file '/proc/net/sctp/snmp'

Hi everyone,

Newbie here and only basically acquainted with all things linux so please bear with me. (never too late to learn)

I did search through the forum and the documents but did not find anything matching my issue directly.

I want to test monitor a basic DSL router. I have gone through the documentation of the SNMP go.d plugin, configured my snmp.conf as per specs. looked at the dimension algorithms, etc. Ran the troubleshooting steps but nothing shows up on my dashboards

Searching through the logs, I get this error when I restart netdata: PROCFILE: Cannot open file ‘/proc/net/sctp/snmp’

Indeed, the sctp folder does not exist in that location, but can i point netdata to look in another location for the snmp plugin?

Additional info:
Communication to node is okay, ran snmpwalk and can pull OIDs and values
The netdata parent install is on a RaspBerri pi4 (in case it’s relevant)

Thanks,

Hugo

Hey, @Hugo71. Ignore that PROCFILE error. It has nothing to do with SNMP monitoring.

I want to test monitor a basic DSL router. I have gone through the documentation of the SNMP go.d plugin

Are you using nightly or stable? We simplified monitoring network devices in nightly, see this video.

That looks exactly like what I need. Now off to figure out how to switch to nightly from stable!
